MY WORK AS A TEACHER!
As mentioned in my bio, I am a strong believer in building relationships with my students. Therefore, many of my lessons have been geared towards my students' interest. Along with The Watsons Go to Birmingham -- 1963 and The Saturday Boy, we will read many short stories. I have found through experience my students enjoy reading the readers theater version of short stories. Readers theater allows students to play different characters in the story. Students really enjoy this. I love to see them role play. This also keeps them engaged and increases their understanding of the story. They are more willing to participate when we make reading fun.
The following are lesson plans I created using the readers theater version of Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. The story can be found on https://jesposito21.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/9/1/12910435/tell_tale_heart_play.pdf. Lesson Plans: click the following link to see how I used this story in my classroom

RelevanceWhy do I need to learn this? This class is structured around Problem Solving Learning. In life students will have to solve many problems, therefore; my lessons are challenging because I want to teach my students perseverance.
